The Mississippi Public Health Institute, serving as the Community-Based Training Partner for the Region IV Public Health Training Center at Emory University presents a series of virtual epidemiology workshops. All workshops will feature interactive skill building exercises and will include a closing Q&A session.

This workshop will focus on applying epidemiological skills to grant writing. Specifically, the workshop will focus on developing the needs assessment section when writing a grant proposal. After this workshop, participants will be able to:

Compose a strong problem statement specific to a prioritized population

Locate relevant data at an appropriate scale to justify need

Develop a strong rationale for funding

Set realistic and measureable project goals

Locate information surrounding evidence-based practices for a variety of topic areas
